Job summary

Atkins Realis Group in the UAE seeks an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to supervise mechanical works for HV substations. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and safety standards across 132kV and above projects. You’ll coordinate with civil, protection, SCADA, and commissioning teams to drive progress and quality on site. This demanding position requires UAE exposure and prior consultancy experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in mechanical engineering and construction supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on 132kV and above High Voltage Substation Projects.
• Experience working for a consultancy/site supervision organization is preferred.
• UAE/GCC utility project experience is highly desirable.
• Previous involvement in testing and commissioning activities for substations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in the supervision of all mechanical works related to 132kV, 220kV, 400kV and above substation projects.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements and quality standards.
• Conduct daily site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
• Verify contractor resources, manpower, equipment and construction methodologies.
• Monitor construction progress against approved project schedules.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical protection, SCADA and commissioning teams.

Your role
