Role Context

The Assistant Nurse - Dental Services provides direct clinical support throughout the dental treatment journey, helping dentists and specialists work safely and efficiently while ensuring patients remain comfortable and informed. The position covers general dentistry as well as more specialized orthodontic, implant, restorative, and cosmetic procedures within a modern multidisciplinary clinic. Strong chairside capability is central to the role. The Assistant Nurse will anticipate procedural requirements, prepare instruments and materials, maintain sterile clinical environments, support patient preparation and recovery, and keep treatment areas ready for a demanding appointment schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide chairside assistance to general dentists, orthodontists, implant dentists, and other dental specialists during consultations and treatments.
  • Prepare treatment rooms before appointments with the correct instruments, materials, consumables, and dental equipment.
  • Support general dentistry procedures including examinations, preventive treatments, restorative work, and routine clinical interventions.
  • Assist during orthodontic treatments by preparing required instruments and supporting efficient chairside workflows.
  • Provide clinical assistance during implant dentistry procedures in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice.
  • Support restorative, cosmetic, and specialist dental treatments as required by the clinical team.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide appropriate assistance before, during, and after treatment.
  • Monitor patient comfort and contribute to a safe, reassuring clinical experience throughout each appointment.
  • Sterilise and process dental instruments according to DHA requirements and established infection prevention procedures.
  • Maintain treatment rooms, dental units, instruments, and clinical equipment in clean and operational condition.
  • Follow infection control, cross-contamination prevention, clinical waste, and patient safety procedures consistently.
  • Maintain accurate dental records, treatment documentation, and relevant information within clinic systems.
  • Reinforce approved post‑treatment instructions and patient guidance provided by the treating dental professional.
  • Monitor dental materials and clinical consumables, replenish stock, and report shortages before they affect treatment schedules.
  • Handle dental equipment and materials carefully and **escalate** maintenance or equipment concerns when required.
  • Coordinate with dentists, specialists, nurses, reception teams, and other clinic personnel to maintain efficient patient flow.
Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a Diploma or Bachelor 's Degree in Nursing and have DHA licensing or DHA eligibility as an Assistant Nurse. A valid BLS certification and at least two years of Assistant Nurse experience within a dental clinic environment are required. Practical dental chairside experience is essential. Applicants should have previously supported General Dentistry, Orthodontics, and Implant Dentistry procedures and be confident preparing instruments, treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for different clinical requirements. Experience in cosmetic dentistry and other specialist dental services will add value. Strong knowledge of sterilisation, infection prevention, patient safety, and dental clinical workflows is also expected. Fluent English communication is required. Arabic, Tagalog, or Nepali fluency is highly preferred due to the clinic 's patient demographics. Candidates should also demonstrate accurate clinical documentation, good computer skills, professional patient interaction, organization, and effective teamwork.
