Job summary

Uniqus in Dubai is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager with a Financial Services background to join our ARC team. You will deliver advisory services to banks, insurers, asset managers, and fintechs with a focus on IFRS, regulatory reporting, and transaction accounting, in a fast-paced market.

The role involves managing ARC projects, supervising junior staff, supporting Partners in client delivery, and contributing to business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA) is required.
• 4–6 years of experience in accounting advisory or audit, with 2–3 years FS client exposure.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, especially for financial instruments and insurance contracts.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC FS market is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage ARC projects for FS clients, including IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 17 implementations and advisory.
• Handle financial instruments accounting (valuation, classification, impairment).
• Prepare and review financial statements under IFRS.
• Assist in finance transformation and process optimization.
• Conduct technical accounting research and prepare memos and position papers.
• Collaborate with FS clients to assess accounting and reporting processes and provide tailored solutions.
• Support Managers and Partners in project planning, execution, and client management.
• Supervise and coach junior team members; ensure high-quality deliverables.

THE INDIVIDUAL

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA) is required.
• 4–6 years of experience in accounting advisory or audit, with a minimum of 2–3 years working with FS clients (banks, insurers, investment firms).
• Strong understanding of IFRS, especially standards relevant to financial instruments and insurance contracts.
• Experience in the UAE or wider GCC financial services market is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of data analytics tools is a plus.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
