Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• ACCA, CA, or CPA certifications are preferred.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in the insurance sector with supervisory exposure.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 is mandatory.
• Experience with financial ERP systems and accounting processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed reviews and reconciliations of accounting processes prior to final approval by senior management.
• Support the preparation and finalisation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations in line with established guidelines and best practices.
• Review journal entries, transaction postings, and financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform preliminary reviews of AR, AP, and General Ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee reconciliation processes, including cash, bank, and trial balance reviews.
• Monitor and supervise reinsurance and third-party insurer accounts.
• Support and guide accounting team members, including training on systems and procedures.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, including managing audit fieldwork requirements.
• Ensure accurate financial data entry and system usage within the ERP environment.
• Support compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in implementing finance-related initiatives and process improvements.
