Job summary

Fly Dubai Limited is seeking an experienced in-house lawyer to lead complex aviation financing and commercial contracts in Dubai.

You will negotiate aircraft financing, maintenance agreements, and related documents, advise on risk, and collaborate with senior management to align legal strategy with business goals.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 3+ years' practice, admitted to a common law jurisdiction.
• Experience in asset financing, banking or commercial contracts, aviation finance preferred.
• In-house experience and GCC exposure advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Negotiates and documents medium to high value transactions including aircraft financing and related documents.
• Negotiates maintenance and related agreements as well as fuel and other commodity agreements.
• Supports the broader commercial team in contract negotiations.
• Advises on terms, liabilities and risks and formulates practical legal solutions.
• Evaluates and proposes the company stance on legal issues and risks.
• Prioritizes matters and collaborates to meet commercial requirements.
• Establishes relationships with external counsel and internal clients.
• Identifies organizational needs and develops legal strategy with Senior Management.
• Initiates projects addressing organizational needs.
• Leads legal training seminars for internal clients.
• Supervises junior team members and supports their development.
• Reads ISR policies and reports incidents to Line Manager or Info Security team.
• Completes ISR awareness sessions and follows guidelines in operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiates and documents medium to high value transactions including inter alia financing and related documents for aircraft acquisition or refinancing as well as loan and similar financing arrangements
• Negotiates maintenance and related agreements as well as fuel and other commodity agreements
• Supports the broader commercial team in a variety of contract negotiations
• Advises on terms liabilities and risks of proposed transactions and formulates creative and practical legal solutions to meet the commercial realities
• Evaluates and proposes the company s stance on pertinent legal issues and risks
• Prioritizes matters and collaborate with team members to accommodate commercial requirements
• Establishes strong relationships with external counsel as well as internal clients of diverse backgrounds understanding their business requirements
• Identifies advises implements and develops general and specialist legal strategy together with the Senior Management
• Identifies organizational needs and initiate and complete projects to address the same
• Facilitates develops and conducts legal training seminars for internal clients to help raise awareness with respect to legal matters
• Supervises junior team members and assists in their professional development
• Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team
• Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (3+ years) Law / Legal Studies Admitted to practice (preferably in a common law jurisdiction) Qualification certificate. Practicing certificate or equivalent Fluent in English Years with qualifications: 4 - 6 years
• Experience in asset financing, banking or commercial contracts. Experience in aviation (including aviation finance) is preferred Previous in-house legal experience beneficial but not essential. Experience in the GCC beneficial but not essential.
• Strong commercial nderstanding and ability to work cross functionally in different legal areas as and when required Excellent PC skills and proficient in use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent English language drafting skills.
