Job summary

Anantara Group is seeking an Assistant Chief Steward for our Abu Dhabi operation. You will supervise stewarding staff, ensure proper cleaning and storage of silverware, glassware, and pots, and maintain strict hygiene standards across all shift activities.

Responsibilities include inventory preparation for banquets, reporting maintenance needs, and upholding safety and cleanliness protocols while supporting the Culinary leadership and team welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising stewarding staff in a large hotel or resort.
• Proven ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Strong knowledge of safety and hygiene protocols within kitchen and stewarding areas.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate stewarding staff on shift.
• Ensure proper washing, cleaning, drying, and storage of utensils and glassware.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment per standards.
• Prepare inventory lists for events and verify counts after functions.
• Ensure safe handling of chemicals and detergents and proper storage.
• Maintain logbooks and incident reports; follow all-cleaning schedules.
• Assist Head of Culinary and support staff welfare, safety, and motivation.

Clean, ironed and not thorn up and ensure that hats are worn at all times* Establishes and maintain effective employee relation.* Ensures that handling of table, glass and silverware and operating equipment is properly done by all staff in order to minimize breakage and service disruption.* To report any maintenance defects in the Kitchen area through the maintenance request (MR) to Engineering Department.* To check that the proper safety sighs are placed in designated places to indicate hazards while cleaning process is ongoing.* To maintain logbook on a shift basis.* To report all breakage at the breakage report book.* Strictly follow the all-cleaning schedule and ensure that correct standard is maintained.* To be willing to carry out all reasonable duties when requested by the Head of Culinary* To build an efficient team of staff and ensure continued improvement by taking interest in the welfare, safety, development, and motivation of the staff.
