Job summary

Aabi Chartered Accountants in Dubai is seeking an Assistant Audit Manager to plan and deliver statutory audits for free zone and mainland clients, oversee audit staff, and manage client relationships and deadlines.

Key duties include leading engagements, reviewing working papers, drafting IFRS financial statements, coordinating with UAE authorities, and upholding ISA standards while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
• Minimum five years of external audit experience, including at least two years in a UAE audit practice
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and International Standards on Auditing
• Track record of managing a portfolio of engagements and meeting statutory deadlines
• Experience auditing free zone entities and familiarity with UAE Free Zone requirements is a strong advantage
• Confident client-facing communication and the ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Plan audit engagements, including risk assessment and resource allocation
• Lead fieldwork and review working papers prepared by seniors and associates
• Draft and review financial statements under IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
• Manage free zone filing deadlines and liaise with authorities
• Ensure engagements comply with ISAs and internal quality control
• Identify and resolve technical accounting issues and escalate as needed
• Present findings and recommendations to client management
• Coach and supervise junior audit team members

Aabi Chartered Accountants, the audit arm of our group, is hiring an Assistant Audit Manager for our Dubai office. The role carries responsibility for planning and delivering statutory audits for free zone and mainland clients, reviewing the work of the audit team, and owning client relationships and filing deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan audit engagements, including risk assessment, materiality, scoping and resource allocation
• Lead fieldwork and review the working papers prepared by seniors and associates
• Draft and review financial statements prepared under IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
• Manage free zone filing deadlines and liaise with authorities such as DMCC, DAFZA, JAFZA and Dubai Silicon Oasis
• Ensure engagements comply with International Standards on Auditing and internal quality control procedures
• Identify and resolve technical accounting issues and escalates significant matters to the partner
• Present findings, control weaknesses and recommendations to client management
• Coach, supervise and appraise junior members of the audit team

What we are looking for
