Job summary

ELMA Electromechanical CO. LLC is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the finance team in daily accounting tasks, invoicing, reconciliations, and filing.

The role requires experience with project accounting, UAE VAT, and accounting software such as Tally, with preference for candidates from MEP contracting backgrounds. The successful candidate will assist with month-end closing, journal entries, and tax invoice verification, contributing to accurate financial records and compliant VAT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably within MEP contracting.
• Knowledge of project accounting and construction-related financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Process supplier and subcontractor invoices along with payment vouchers.
• Prepare supplier payment schedules, cheques, and bank transfer requests.
• Verify purchase orders (POs), local purchase orders (LPOs), delivery notes, and supplier invoices.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain petty cash records.
• Assist with monthly financial reports, journal entries, and month-end closing activities.
• Verify tax invoices and prepare UAE VAT workings and supporting documents.
• Maintain accounting documentation and organized filing systems.
• Perform additional accounting tasks assigned by the Senior Accountant.
