Job summary

dnata is seeking a Junior Cargo Assistant to join the Cargo Team in Dubai. You will oversee the physical handling of cargo, courier and mail and ensure documentation is processed to enable safe and efficient import and export of cargo.

You will support cargo operations by supervising staff, recording cargo details, inspecting documentation, and ensuring compliance with dangerous goods and GDP requirements. This role joins a fast-paced, global aviation services provider.

Qualifications

• 10 years of schooling or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in logistics or cargo role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the acceptance and delivery of cargo, courier and mail with high customer service standards.
• Supervise porters and equipment operators during build-up and breakdown of cargo and verify cargo conformance.
• Maintain inventory records and record deviations at customer request.
• Log cargo details for tracking using manual and automated systems.
• Inspect and validate all cargo documentation for safe acceptance and delivery.
• Assist officials to ensure safe movement of cargo and mail.
• Ensure dangerous goods handling complies with regulations.
• Ensure time/temperature sensitive shipments comply with GDP requirements.
