Job summary

Dubai Culture is seeking a conservation professional to develop preservation plans and restore museum artifacts across multiple locations in Dubai. The role includes inventory, digital record creation, and collaboration on transport, installation, and maintenance for exhibitions.

The candidate will ensure environmental standards are met and will prepare reports linking restoration work to artifact records, with procurement duties for the conservation lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Conservation or equivalent specialization.
• 4 years of experience in restoration of museum artifacts.
• Experience with creating digital records linked to artifacts.
• Ability to work across multiple locations (museums, heritage sites, storage, historic buildings).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop a preservation plan for artifacts based on best practices.
• Conduct inventory and registration, creating digital records for the collection.
• Perform restoration work and protect artifacts from damage or deterioration.
• Prepare detailed reports and link them to artifact records.
• Collaborate on transport, restoration, maintenance, and installation for exhibitions.
• Ensure display environments meet environmental requirements for artifacts.
• Prepare material lists and coordinate procurement for the conservation lab.
• Work across museums, heritage sites, storage facilities, and historic buildings.
• Participate in collection audits and annual inventory reporting.
