Job summary

ITP Media Group is seeking an experienced Art Director to lead the visual identity of T: The New York Times Style Magazine MENA across print, digital, social, video, audio, and live experiences in the Dubai region.

Reporting to the Editor‑in‑Chief, the Art Director will translate editorial ideas into striking, culturally resonant design and uphold world‑class standards while building a distinctive regional aesthetic.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years in editorial/brand art direction with landmark covers/features across print, web, social and motion.
  • Familiarity with Arabic typography and RTL layout is a strong plus; bilingual English/Arabic is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Define and codify visual language across platforms, balancing global guidelines with a distinct regional sensibility.
  • Own and maintain brand style guides, design systems, and component libraries for print and digital; ensure bilingual output.
  • Collaborate with the Editor‑in‑Chief on cover concepts, packages, and franchises; champion visual excellence and originality.
  • Lead issue design from plan to final files for monthly print cadence; manage typography, image selection, and layout craft.
  • Oversee digital design for feature templates, social franchises, newsletters, and article packaging; ensure responsive, on-brand execution.
  • Manage prepress and print production including colour management, retouching standards, proof reviews, and press sign-off.
  • Commission and direct photographers, stylists, set designers, illustrators, and retouchers; build a regional talent roster.
