General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the onsite resource for all matters related to architecture, finishing, and design quality by developing and reviewing drawings, providing feedback, and sketches to rectify design errors for incorporation by Designers/Drafters.
- Achieve a detailed understanding of contract documents (drawings and specifications), coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, civil, electrical, etc., and advise on the execution of architectural design and finish.
- Review architectural drawings, reports, and specifications submitted by the design consultant at each design stage to ensure completeness, correctness, and compliance with scope and agreement requirements.
- Provide feedback and sketches to rectify design errors for incorporation by Designers/Drafters where necessary.
- Review materials proposed by the Contractor and propose alternatives to improve quality, maintenance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review architectural engineering calculations, plans, designs, and layouts to ensure alignment with project specifications and cost estimates.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Work with the Engineering Manager to resolve architectural and related issues on-site.
- Ensure the Contractor incorporates comments from previous reports or site modifications.
- Conduct meetings to review proposals, plans, and make necessary revisions.
- Attend progress and technical meetings, distributing minutes to all concerned parties.
- Monitor and review all architectural value engineering, RFIs, and shop drawings.
- Review change requests and variations submitted by the design consultant and contractor.
- Monitor and review site performance related to architecture discipline.
- Perform field activities to record conditions, verify measurements, and review contractors' performance and claims.
- Facilitate on-site problem solving for issues raised by contractors, engineers, and clients.
- Organize and coordinate architectural documents, review contractors' submittals, and suggest solutions if necessary.
- Assist in scope review, budgeting, and justification of change orders, designs, and drawings at the site.
- Coordinate with QA and HSE teams to ensure compliance with all project-specific requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, methodologies, tools, and best practices in architecture and finishes.
- Review design alternatives submitted by the Contractor, preparing reports with recommendations.
- Prepare responses to design consultant and contractor correspondence related to architecture.
- Attend site inspections and surveys as required.
- Maintain project documentation, including correspondence, meeting minutes, and notes.
- Monitor the performance of the design team to ensure correctness, completeness, and compliance.
- Prepare and monitor project responsibility matrices.
- Ensure compliance with Hill International's Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture.
- 12 years of relevant professional experience.
- Mandatory consulting or PMC experience.
- Project experience in cargo terminals or warehouses is essential.
- Experience dealing with local authorities (e.g., NG, Customs, MoH, MoI) is required.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Strong communication and computer skills.

- Organizational, prioritization, and scheduling skills.
