Job summary

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) seeks an experienced Arabic Trainer to join its academic team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality preparatory Arabic instruction to support students' academic readiness and success in undergraduate programs.

The Arabic Trainer will help students develop foundational language skills, academic communication abilities, and reading/writing proficiency, equipping them with critical thinking skills for university study.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education, Linguistics, or related field. A Master's is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of university-level teaching in Arabic.
  • Strong knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic, grammar, reading and writing, and academic communication.
  • Experience teaching preparatory/foundation programs is highly preferred.
  • Ability to teach diverse student groups with varying backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Arabic preparatory courses to develop language proficiency and academic communication.
  • Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and exams aligned with AUE standards.
  • Support students who meet entry requirements but need reinforcement in Arabic.
  • Provide academic guidance, tutoring, and support to enhance performance and retention.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback and academic support.
  • Review and enhance the Arabic preparatory curriculum, assessments, and activities.
  • Coordinate with other trainers to ensure curriculum alignment and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required documentation.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and development initiatives.
