Job summary

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) invites applications for an experienced Arabic Trainer to join its academic team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality preparatory Arabic instruction to support students’ academic readiness and success in undergraduate programs.

The Arabic Trainer will help students develop strong foundational language skills, academic communication abilities, reading and writing proficiency, and critical thinking skills required for university-level studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Arabic or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of university-level Arabic teaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic, grammar, reading, writing and academic communication.
• Experience teaching preparatory, foundation or bridging programs preferred.
• Ability to teach diverse student groups.
• Excellent communication, presentation and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Arabic preparatory courses that develop language proficiency and academic communication skills.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments and examinations aligned with AUE standards.
• Support students who meet entry requirements but need additional Arabic reinforcement.
• Provide academic guidance, tutoring and support to enhance performance and retention.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback and support.
• Review, revise and enhance the Arabic preparatory curriculum, assessments and activities.
• Coordinate with other trainers for curriculum alignment and academic consistency.
• Maintain accurate academic records and progress reports.
• Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions and development initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education, Linguistics, or a related field from an accredited university. A Master’s degree is preferred.
