Role Context
The Arabic Teacher - Curriculum Delivery will provide structured and motivating instruction aligned with the approved curriculum and school standards. The role contributes to student achievement by adapting lessons for different learning abilities, maintaining accurate academic records, using assessment data to guide teaching and building productive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the required Arabic curriculum using accurate and current subject knowledge.
- Plan and teach high-quality lessons that motivate students and support measurable academic progress.
- Prepare learning materials and classroom activities suited to different learning styles and ability levels.
- Maintain written lesson plans, curriculum maps, annual plans, attendance records, assessment schedules and teaching resources.
- Follow GEMS Education policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements and professional codes of conduct.
- Adapt teaching strategies for late-entering students, English language learners, students with lower academic attainment and gifted learners.
- Set, mark and evaluate classwork, homework, projects and formal assessments.
- Record and report student attainment, development and academic progress accurately.
- Use assessment results to adjust lesson delivery and address individual learning needs.
- Integrate appropriate media, digital tools and classroom technology into teaching.
- Promote student well-being and provide guidance on academic and educational matters.
- Maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor student conduct and apply suitable strategies to encourage self-discipline and manage disruptive behaviour.
- Promote cultural awareness, mutual respect and a positive attitude toward learning.
- Communicate with education authorities and external stakeholders when required.
- Participate in appraisal, performance management and Continuing Professional Development activities.
- Collaborate with teaching colleagues to prepare resources, courses of study and pastoral arrangements.
- Contribute to co-curricular and extracurricular programmes and lead activities when appropriate.
- Share ideas, teaching resources and classroom experiences with colleagues.
- Assist with school events including competitions, concerts, plays, assemblies and prize ceremonies.
- Meet parents regularly and provide clear updates on student progress while protecting confidential information.
- Promote the GEMS philosophy and core values during interactions with students, parents and colleagues.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on school committees when requested.
- Provide additional support beyond normal working hours when school activities require it.
- Complete other reasonable duties assigned by direct or dotted-line managers and supervisors.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's degree in Arabic.
- Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of proven classroom teaching experience.
- Strong and current knowledge of Arabic curriculum content and teaching methodology.
- Ability to plan differentiated lessons for students with varied academic and language needs.
- Excellent classroom management and student behaviour support skills.
- Confident written and spoken communication.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Experience assessing student performance and maintaining accurate academic records.
- Comfortable using educational technology, digital media and classroom systems.
