Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the required curriculum with accurate, current, and well-structured subject knowledge.
• Plan and teach engaging lessons that motivate students and support different learning styles.
• Prepare teaching materials, resources, assessments, curriculum plans, year plans, and classroom activities.
• Support students according to individual needs, including ESL learners, late-entering students, gifted learners, and students requiring academic support.
• Assess, mark, record, and report student progress while using assessment outcomes to improve learning.
• Maintain clear records for attendance, planning, teaching resources, assessment schedules, and student development.
• Use media, digital tools, and classroom technology effectively to enhance student engagement.
• Promote student wellbeing, academic growth, self-discipline, cultural awareness, and love of learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour through fair, consistent, and supportive strategies.
• Work with colleagues on curriculum development, pastoral arrangements, learning resources, and school improvement activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
• Participate in staff meetings, committees, appraisal procedures, performance management, and CPD activities.
• Contribute to co‑curricular and extracurricular programmes, school events, competitions, concerts, plays, prize days, and community activities.
• Follow GEMS policies, procedures, codes of conduct, safeguarding expectations, and school standards at all times.
• Liaise with external stakeholders such as education authorities when required.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Teaching, Education, or a relevant subject area.
• Minimum 4 to 5 years of proven teaching experience in a school environment.
• Strong understanding of curriculum delivery, teaching methods, assessment practice, and educational procedures.
• Excellent ICT skills with confidence using media and technology in classroom learning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
• Well‑organized educator with leadership ability, initiative, and a professional approach to school responsibilities.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies for students with different learning needs and academic levels.
• Strong classroom management skills with a positive and respectful approach to student behaviour.
