Job summary

Aggreko in Dubai is seeking an Applications Engineer - Power to lead design work for project bids and operations. You will develop power packages, produce detailed drawings, and prepare design documentation for proposals and execution.

The role requires 5+ years in power design within energy or industrial sectors, with AutoCAD and ETAP experience, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree required.
• Minimum 5 years design experience in Power Generation/Utility/Oil & Gas.
• Fluent in English; another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design power packages to suit project needs and maximize Aggreko fleet use.
• Prepare project shop drawings using CAD software.
• Prepare Project Design Pack documentation for sales proposals.
• Liaise with clients and verify project needs on site.
• Advise Sales on design issues and propose engineering solutions.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash and voltage drop studies.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA and local codes.
• Collaborate with engineering team across project life cycle.

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Applications Engineer - Power based in Dubai .

You will be responsible for preparation of project-specific designs and supporting technical documentation for inclusion in sales bids detailed design phases and operational projects. Coordinate engineering input across the team and provide expert technical support across project stakeholders.

What youll do as Applications Engineer - Power:

• Liaise with clients technical staff and visit potential job sites as required to verify project needs.

• Advise Sales team on project specific design issues and propose engineering solutions.

• Design power packages to suit project needs and maximize use of Aggreko fleet products.

• Design the specification of specialist electrical equipment in conjunction with ME Engineering team.

• Perform power system studies such as load flow short-circuit coordination arc flash and voltage drop analysis.

• Ensure design complies with relevant codes and standards (IEC IEEE NEC NFPA local regulations)

• Preparation of project shop drawings (single-line diagrams layout drawings and other detailed drawing required for project execution) using CAD software.

• Preparation of Project Design Pack documentation for inclusion in sales proposals.

• Gives engineering assistance as to Operational Projects.

• Prepare project documentation bill of materials and as-built drawings.

• Collaborate with Engineering Team on design support requirements for the complete project life cycle.

You are:

• Minimum of 5 years design experience in a Power Generation/ Utility/ Oil & Gas Industry.

• Electrical Engineering Degree

• Fluent in English a second language would be an advantage

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Strong computer design skills.

• Proficient in using Autocad

• Customer Focus - understands the importance of customer needs whether internal or external focuses on responding to them and develops relationships.

• Working together with others relates to people engages and builds relationships.

• Experience in electrical tools/software such as ETAP or Design Paladin.

• Require travel to project locations for site visits and client meetings
