Airwallex is seeking an experienced risk operations leader to scale APAC merchant risk management across payments. You will work with product, engineering, and legal teams to implement AI-enabled risk tooling, automate workflows, and drive performance against enterprise risk appetite.

The role requires coordinating across multiple geographies and stakeholders to protect growth and margins. You will lead a high-impact team, craft risk strategies, and mentor senior ICs while upholding rigorous

Competenze

• 8+ years of experience in payments/fintech/acquiring with at least 3+ years people management
• Deep expertise in one or more Merchant Risk: credit and fraud risk, brand risk
• Proven track record managing senior ICs in multi-location teams
• Ability to operate fast in ambiguity, set clear priorities, and drive outcomes in a fast-moving environment
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

• Lead APAC Merchant Risk Operations team for Payments
• Own end-to-end operational performance for APAC merchant risk operations
• Oversee design and execution of merchant monitoring, investigation and escalation workflows across APAC region
• Partner with global legal, risk and compliance to implement new policies and control changes
• Work with Product and Engineering to evolve risk tooling and AI/LLM-based workflows
• Champion automation and AI to reduce manual work while maintaining control standards
