Job summary

United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a Laboratory Technician/Specialist in the Department of Food Science. The successful candidate will operate and maintain HPLC/UHPLC, GC-MS, and LC-MS/MS systems, and support undergraduate and postgraduate practical sessions.

The role includes training users in safe operation, maintaining SOPs, and ensuring laboratory readiness and safety compliance in a collaborative academic setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
• Experience operating HPLC and at least one MS platform (GC-MS or LC-MS).
• Knowledge of safety, chemical management, and good lab practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate HPLC/UHPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS and related instruments.
• Assist with sample preparation, instrument setup, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, protocols, logbooks, and maintenance records.
• Conduct calibration, performance verification, and preventive maintenance.
• Support teaching labs and train users in instrument operation and safety.
