Job summary

United Arab Emirates University, Department of Food Science, invites applications for a full-time Instructor to teach and coordinate laboratory sections across undergraduate Food Science courses, support practical, research-informed student learning, and participate in departmental research activities.

The successful candidate will prepare lab materials, demonstrate techniques, supervise sessions, assess performance, maintain safety, and assist with course coordination and accreditation tasks

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Food Science or a closely related discipline is required
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Ability to teach and supervise undergraduate laboratory sessions
• Familiarity with laboratory safety, quality assurance, and SOPs

Responsibilities

• Teach laboratory sections for multiple undergraduate Food Science courses
• Prepare laboratory experiments, materials, reagents, and assessment activities
• Explain laboratory methods and proper use of analytical instruments
• Supervise practical sessions and ensure safety compliance
• Assess laboratory reports and practical exams according to course requirements
• Provide academic guidance and constructive feedback to students
• Assist faculty with course coordination, learning-outcome assessment, and accreditation activities
