Job summary

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is seeking an Officer – Alumni Engagement and Employability to join its Alumni and Career Services Department in the UAE. The role focuses on strengthening alumni engagement, enhancing student employability, and delivering career services programs.

The officer will build relationships with alumni, employers, and industry partners, coordinate career-related initiatives, and support students through CV, interview prep, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Higher Education, Communication, Human Resources, or related field is desirable.
• Minimum 2 years post-bachelor’s degree professional work experience.
• Customer-facing experience is required.
• Demonstrable understanding of Higher Education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement alumni engagement initiatives, including events, networking opportunities, career talks, and social activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records and databases and ensure effective communication with alumni.
• Facilitate alumni involvement in university activities, including guest lectures, industry panels, and networking events.
• Support the delivery of career development programs and activities that enhance students’ career readiness and employability skills.
• Provide guidance and support to students and graduates in CV development, interview preparation, job-search strategies, and professional networking.
• Coordinate career-related initiatives that connect students and graduates with employers and industry professionals.
• Develop initiatives that support alumni access to employment, career advancement, and lifelong learning opportunities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with alumni employers, industry partners, professional associations, and other external stakeholders.
• Identify and engage potential employers and industry partners to expand internship, placement, graduate employment, and professional networking opportunities.
• Support partnerships and collaborative initiatives that enhance student employability, graduate recruitment, and industry engagement.
• Organize and manage career fairs, recruitment days, employer networking events, alumni panels, and professional development workshops.
• Develop promotional and communication materials to increase awareness and participation in alumni, career, employment, and employer engagement initiatives.
• Maintain an up-to-date employer and industry partner database and ensure effective follow-up and relationship management.
• Maintain and update alumni employment information and contribute to the collection, verification, and reporting of graduate employment and career progression data.
• Prepare regular reports on participation, engagement, employment, and career outcomes.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of departmental policies, procedures, KPIs, annual operational plans, and other departmental initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
