Job summary

Cinergie Digital is seeking a methodical Software Engineer to provide specialized application support for our airline cargo platform in Dubai. You will ensure data flow from booking to revenue accounting, maintain system health, and manage incidents with a focus on IATA cargo standards compliance.

The role requires 3+ years in airline cargo application support, hands-on SQL skills, ITIL experience, and familiarity with SkyChain, iCargo, or Cargospot.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in application support within airline cargo operations.
• Strong knowledge of air cargo processes including AWB handling and revenue accounting.
• Proficiency with IATACargo messaging formats (Cargo-IMP/Cargo-XML) and message reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line incident management across booking, acceptance, warehouse, flight handling, and accounting modules.
• Monitor interfaces, message queues, and data flows; trace and fix cargo messages and integration issues.
• Coordinate fixes with vendors and IT teams; maintain runbooks and knowledge bases.

Role Overview

Cinergie Digital is seeking a methodical and technically proficient Software Engineer to provide specialized application support for our airline cargo platform. This role acts as the bridge between complex technical systems and live cargo operations, ensuring the seamless flow of data across the entire lifecycle from initial booking to final revenue accounting. You will be responsible for maintaining system health, resolving incidents, and ensuring our integration with IATA standards remains flawless. This is a functional support position requiring a deep understanding of the air cargo domain; it is ideal for an engineer who thrives on solving operational challenges and ensuring mission-critical systems remain robust.

Key Responsibilities

• Incident Management: Provide second-line support across booking, acceptance, warehouse, flight handling, and accounting modules; triage, investigate, and resolve incidents reported by operational users.
• System Monitoring & Message Integrity: Monitor system health, interfaces, and message queues. Proactively trace and rectify failed cargo messages (FWB, FHL, FFM, CPM, UCM, UWS, ASM, LIR, AGM) and troubleshoot broken integrations.
• Problem Resolution: Identify and address root causes for recurring issues, ensuring long-term stability through effective problem and change control.
• Configuration & Quality Assurance: Manage system configuration and enhancements. Execute SIT, UAT, regression, and E2E testing to ensure system integrity.
• Release Management: Facilitate production releases and deployments, providing post-implementation validation to ensure operational readiness.
• Data Validation: Utilize SQL to validate operational data and ensure all message flows remain fully compliant with IATA cargo standards.
• Documentation & Collaboration: Coordinate fixes with end-users, software vendors, and internal IT teams; maintain comprehensive runbooks and knowledge base articles.

Nice-to-Have

• Background in a vendor, airline carrier, or ground handling operational environment.
• Experience with automated testing tools in an airline logistics context.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in application support within an airline cargo environment. (Note: This is a functional support role; pure development profiles will not be considered).
• Domain Expertise: Deep end-to-end functional knowledge of air cargo processes, including AWB handling, warehouse operations, flight manifesting, and revenue accounting.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience supporting platforms such as SkyChain (strongly preferred), iCargo, or Cargospot.
• Message Standards: Expert-level capability in reading and troubleshooting IATA cargo messaging (Cargo-IMP/Cargo-XML), including raw message analysis and rejection handling.
• Operational Support: Solid foundation in ITIL-based incident management and integration troubleshooting (customs, accounting, and ground handling interfaces).
• Database Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and validation.
• Soft Skills: A calm, methodical approach to troubleshooting under pressure and a strong commitment to documenting fixes and workflows.
• Availability: Ability to work onsite in Dubai and participate in on-call rotations for critical cargo operations.
