Job summary

HUMAN-AI-Z Nexus Technology in Dubai is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and certify aircraft and systems to ensure airworthiness and safety.

The role involves reading AMMs and other manuals, performing scheduled checks (A, B, C), coordinating with engineers and operations, and documenting maintenance actions with accuracy while complying with ICAO, EASA, FAA or local authorities where applicable.

Role Description

An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and certifying aircraft, aircraft systems, components, and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and airworthy operation. The role works closely with maintenance technicians, pilots, engineering teams, flight operations, manufacturers, suppliers, quality teams, and aviation authorities.

Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities include performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and component replacement; conducting transit, daily, weekly, A-check, C-check, and other scheduled maintenance activities as applicable; inspecting aircraft structures, engines, landing gear, flight-control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, avionics, communication systems, navigation systems, and other aircraft components; diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, structural, and avionics faults using approved maintenance manuals, technical documentation, diagnostic equipment, and specialized tools; interpreting Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC), Wiring Diagram Manuals (WDM), Fault Isolation Manuals (FIM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and engineering instructions; performing functional tests, operational checks, inspections, troubleshooting, and system verification after maintenance activities; ensuring maintenance tasks are completed according to approved procedures, manufacturer requirements, engineering instructions, maintenance programs, and applicable aviation regulations; completing accurate maintenance records, technical logs, work cards, task cards, inspection reports, defect reports, and component documentation; identifying and reporting aircraft defects, technical discrepancies, safety concerns, and reliability issues; supporting defect rectification, troubleshooting, aircraft recovery, AOG situations, and urgent maintenance requirements; coordinating with maintenance control, flight operations, engineering, planning, logistics, quality assurance, and technical services teams; inspecting replacement parts, tools, equipment, and materials to ensure correct specifications, traceability, certification, and airworthiness requirements; performing aircraft system testing using approved test equipment and ground-support equipment; supporting aircraft modifications, upgrades, structural repairs, avionics installations, cabin modifications, and engineering changes where authorized; participating in reliability programs by monitoring recurring defects, component failures, technical trends, and maintenance performance; supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring technical problems; maintaining tools, equipment, calibration records, maintenance areas, and technical resources; following aviation safety, occupational health, environmental, human-factors, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention procedures; supporting quality audits, regulatory inspections, safety investigations, and compliance activities; utilizing computerized maintenance-management systems, electronic technical logs, aircraft health-monitoring systems, predictive maintenance technologies, data analytics, and AI-assisted diagnostic tools where approved; monitoring manufacturer recommendations, technical publications, regulatory updates, service bulletins, and airworthiness requirements; and continuously improving aircraft safety, reliability, maintenance efficiency, operational readiness, and airworthiness standards.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Avionics, or a related discipline. Relevant aircraft maintenance license or certification appropriate to the aircraft type and applicable aviation authority. Strong understanding of aircraft structures, propulsion, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, flight controls, avionics, fuel systems, landing gear, and aircraft maintenance practices. Ability to read and interpret AMM, SRM, IPC, FIM, CMM, WDM, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, technical publications, and maintenance instructions. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, analytical, mechanical, electrical, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of aviation maintenance regulations and standards applicable to the operating environment, such as ICAO, EASA, FAA, UK CAA, GCAA, or equivalent authorities. Understanding of aviation safety-management systems, human factors, risk management, quality assurance, FOD prevention, and maintenance safety. Familiarity with computerized maintenance-management systems and electronic technical-log platforms. Knowledge of aircraft health monitoring, predictive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, and aviation data analytics is advantageous. Ability to use aircraft maintenance tools, specialized test equipment, diagnostic equipment, and ground-support equipment. Strong technical documentation, reporting, communication, and record-keeping skills. Strong understanding of component traceability, certification, tooling control, calibration, and maintenance records. Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, pilots, maintenance control, operations, logistics, manufacturers, suppliers, and quality teams. Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Relevant aircraft type ratings, engineering licenses, maintenance certifications, or aviation technical qualifications are highly advantageous.
