Job summary

Etihad Airways is seeking a Design Engineer who reports to the Engineering Manager to develop STCs, modifications and technical solutions for aircraft. You will produce engineering data and controlled documents in compliance with DOA/Part 21J and liaise with TC/STC holders for approvals.

The role may require outside-hours work in an operational environment where access to aircraft is necessary. Strong English communication and aviation maintenance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as an Engineer in an EASA/GCAA Part 145/21J organization or equivalent.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide technically accurate solutions for defects arising from maintenance, including repairs, modifications and concessions.
• Develop technical solutions using IPC, SRM, AMM, CMM, SBs and other maintenance data; analyze defect reports to establish root cause.
• Ensure solutions comply with Part 145 or Part 21J DOA rules and prepare defect reports and certification packages for approvals.
• Create design modifications, drawings, BOMs and certification documents on time per the scope of work.
• Interface with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement engineering changes cost-effectively.
