Job summary

Noatum Logistics, part of AD Ports Group, is seeking a Customs Clearance specialist to ensure smooth air cargo clearance through customs, coordinating with authorities and internal teams to meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires 2-3 years in customs clearance, familiarity with customs brokerage or logistics firms, and strong documentation discipline. You will liaise with airlines, forwarders, and warehouses to ensure timely release and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customs laws and regulations.
• Experience with customs brokerage firms, freight forwarders, or logistics companies.
• 2-3 years of experience in customs clearance or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customs declarations for air shipments.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and duty structures.
• Monitor shipment status and address customs-related issues.
• Coordinate with customs officials to resolve queries or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of customs transactions for audits and compliance.
• Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, and warehouse teams for timely cargo release.
• Provide shipment updates to clients and internal teams; work with brokers and government agencies for approvals.
• Ensure import/export docs (invoices, packing lists, permits) are complete and accurate.
• Stay updated on changes in customs laws, regulations and tariffs.
• Assist in obtaining special permits or exemptions when needed.
• Identify potential clearance delays and propose solutions.
• Handle disputes related to valuation, duties, and classifications.
• Resolve customs holds or inspections quickly.
• Maintain logs of cleared shipments and proper filing of documents.
• Generate reports on clearance performance and compliance risks.
• Assist audits with necessary documentation and explanations.
