Context

The Accounts Payable Executive - Insurance helps maintain financial accuracy across insurance payables, supplier obligations, broker commission payments, claims-related disbursements, and reinsurance settlements. The position works closely with claims, medical, underwriting, reinsurance, finance, vendors, brokers, and banking teams to reduce payment delays, resolve discrepancies, protect compliance standards, and support clean month‑end reporting. Strong execution in this role improves cash control, audit readiness, stakeholder confidence, and the reliability of financial operations in a regulated insurance environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process claims-related payments to garages, hospitals, policyholders, and approved service providers in coordination with claims and medical teams.
  • Validate broker commission statements against agreements, policy records, and approved commission structures before payment processing.
  • Manage reinsurance payables, including treaty and facultative settlements, while following contractual terms and internal approval procedures.
  • Review and process premium refunds with proper documentation, authorization, policy validation, and compliance checks.
  • Verify vendor invoices for accuracy, supporting documents, approvals, VAT treatment, and correct accounting entries before posting.
  • Execute approved payments through bank transfers, cheques, or other authorized payment methods in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain vendor master data, supplier records, bank details, payment terms, and documentation with strong accuracy.
  • Monitor high-volume payment queues and prioritize urgent settlements without compromising control requirements.
  • Support reconciliation of vendor balances, payables ledgers, broker commissions, claims settlements, and insurance-related accounts.
  • Coordinate with claims, underwriting, reinsurance, finance, vendors, and brokers to investigate and clear payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT rules, input VAT validation, audit requirements, regulatory expectations, and insurance accounting controls.
  • Assist with month‑end closing activities, accrual support, payable schedules, settlement reports, and audit file preparation.
  • Prepare periodic reports covering payables, commission payments, outstanding settlements, vendor balances, and processing status.
  • Respond to vendor, broker, and internal stakeholder queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Identify recurring errors or process gaps and support improvements that strengthen payment accuracy and operational efficiency.
Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in accounts payable, insurance accounting, financial services payments, or high-volume finance operations. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required, supported by practical knowledge of claims payments, broker commissions, reinsurance transactions, vendor invoices, and reconciliations.

  • 2-5 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within insurance or financial services.
  • Hands‑on exposure to insurance‑specific payables such as claims, reinsurance settlements, broker commissions, and premium refunds is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of UAE VAT requirements, invoice validation, payment controls, and finance documentation standards.
  • Experience using ERP, accounting systems, payment platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage large transaction volumes with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good reconciliation skills for payables, vendor accounts, claims payments, broker balances, and settlement records.
  • Clear communication skills for dealing with brokers, vendors, claims teams, underwriting, reinsurance, and finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and maintain control discipline during busy payment cycles.
  • Practical understanding of audit requirements, internal controls, approval workflows, and regulatory compliance.
