Job summary

Blue Ocean Corporation, a Dubai-based conglomerate, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage daily transactions, ensure month-end closes, and prepare financial reports in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong UAE VAT knowledge, full-cycle accounting expertise, and fluency in Arabic and English. You will coordinate with banks, suppliers, and internal teams, while maintaining strict compliance with local regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• 4–6 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Native Arabic speaker with strong English communication.
• Experience with UAE VAT, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions including AP, AR, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Prepare and maintain invoices, vouchers, receipts, and other financial documents.
• Perform reconciliations of bank, supplier, customer, and ledgers.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up.
• Assist with monthly closing, financial reports, and management reporting.
• Maintain documentation of all accounting transactions.
• Assist in UAE VAT returns preparation and compliance.
• Coordinate with banks, suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting activities as required.
• Support audits with required financial records.
• Monitor expenses and ensure proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and company policies.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Manage daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Prepare and maintain accurate invoices, vouchers, receipts, and other financial documents.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and ledger reconciliations.

• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, banks, and internal departments regarding finance-related matters.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting activities, as required.
• Support internal and external audits by providing the required financial records and documentation.
• Monitor expenses and ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported by relevant documents.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and applicable UAE regulations.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
• Native Arabic speaker with strong English communication skills.
• Strong hands‑on experience on UAE accounting practices, VAT, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience handling full‑cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end closing.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT compliance and VAT return preparation.
• Experience in preparing financial statements, management reports, account schedules, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
• Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle, or similar accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial procedures.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of accounting activities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with management, auditors, banks, suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
