Job summary

BeWunder in Dubai is seeking an accountant to join the Finance team. You will manage AR, AP and investment accounting, post bank transactions, and support month-end closes.

Your role includes tax compliance with German tax rules and IFRS/HGB, plus collaboration with the external auditors. The ideal candidate has German fluency (C1) and at least 2 years in accounting, with ERP experience and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with German sales tax.
• ERP systems experience; knowledge of eGecko a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Fluency in German (C1) and English (C1).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for financial accounting including AR, AP and investment accounting.
• First point of contact for AR/AP issues.
• Bank postings and posting accruals/deferrals.
• Prepare approval workflow for invoices.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and internal reporting.
• Support year-end audit with external auditors.
• Coordinate with tax advisor; ensure IFRS/HGB compliance.
• Communicate with internal and external contacts.
• Handle cash flow transactions.
• Support ad-hoc tasks and projects.
• Produce analyses and reports for the Finance Manager.

Your mission

As an accountant you are integral to the success of the Finance team and you ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved for the team and for BeWunder. You will showcase your skills abilities and expertise by ensuring your efforts and output will add value in the day to day lives of our clients their guests vendors and our team members.

• Responsible for financial accounting and the proper execution of accounts receivable accounts payable and investment accounting including payment transactions.
• First point of contact for issues relating to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Bank postings.
• Preparation support and monitoring of approval workflow for invoices.
• Preparation of monthly financial statements and will take over internal reporting tasks.
• Posting accruals and deferrals.
• Participation in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Work together with our tax advisor on annual financial statements and support with the year end audit with our external auditors.
• Correspondence with internal and external contacts.
• Handle cash flow transactions.
• Support with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
• Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Finance Manager
• Ensure compliance with taxation regulations generally accepted accounting principles German GAAP (HGB) / International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and organisational procedures.

Your profile

• Part-qualified accountant degree in finance/accounting or qualified by experience.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience is a must.
• Experience with German sales tax required.
• Skilled in working with ERP systems - knowledge of eGecko is a plus.
• Very good command of the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook Excel Word Teams etc.).
• Good communication skills and fluency in German (C1 level) and English (C1 level).
