Role Overview

We are hiring a smart and capable Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and VAT filing for a general trading company operating in the FMCG sector. The candidate must have relevant UAE accounting experience and a strong understanding of UAE VAT compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger
• Accounts payable
• Accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
• Handle day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records
• Prepare and maintain financial reports and supporting schedules
• Prepare and file UAE VAT returns in compliance with applicable regulations
• Reconcile VAT accounts and ensure proper documentation for VAT filing
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and customers regarding accounting matters
• Assist with month-end closing and audit-related requirements
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of FMCG trading transactions

Qualifications

• Skills
• Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Overall 3 5 years of accounting experience
• Minimum 1 2 years of relevant accounting experience in the UAE
• Experience with UAE VAT and VAT filing is mandatory
• Experience in a general trading company preferably within the FMCG sector is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting ERP software
• Good English communication and interpersonal skills
• Smart, proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently

Preferred Candidate

• Candidates currently based in the UAE with relevant UAE accounting experience will be preferred
• Immediate joiners are preferred.
