Job summary

KOTUG Middle East FZCO is seeking an experienced Accountant on a 5-month maternity cover basis in Dubai. The role supports bank reconciliations, invoicing, payroll processing, intercompany activity, and month-end closing for several entities across the Middle East and Africa.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance or Economics, and relevant ACCA/CPA/CMA/CA qualifications. Strong analytical skills and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required or equivalent.
• ACCA/CPA/CMA/CA qualification (or finalist) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with bank reconciliation, invoicing, payroll, AR and month-end closing.

Responsibilities

• Bank Reconciliation and Cash Management for multiple entities; resolve discrepancies and prepare fund transfers.
• Prepare customer invoices in Dubai, Angola, Gabon and post receipts in Dynamics 365.
• Process payroll and salary payments, including WPS, with HR liaison.
• Complete intercompany reconciliations and month-end closing tasks across entities.
• Manage customer aging, collections and reporting, escalating issues as needed.
• Support external audits with schedules, reconciliations and documentation.

KOTUG Middle East is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant for a 5-month maternity cover contract. Make an immediate impact by supporting key finance activities across multiple international entities.

The accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and completing key accounting activities for KOTUG Middle East FZCO and its assigned international companies. The role handles bank reconciliations, customer invoices and receipts, salary processing, intercompany transactions, customer payment follow-up, and month-end accounting activities. The Accountant also provides financial information and supports documents during external audits.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Bank Reconciliation and Cash Management

• Complete timely bank reconciliations for the Dubai, Angola, Gabon, Senegal, and Singapore entities.
• Investigate and resolve differences between bank statements and accounting records.
• Prepare monthly fund transfers for crew salaries and MarTrust payments, with complete supporting documents.

Customer Invoicing and Receipts

• Prepare accurate sales invoices for customers in Dubai, Angola, and Gabon.
• Post and match customer receipts in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Investigate unmatched payments and maintain accurate customer accounts.
• Process cross-charter invoices in Blue10 and check supporting documents and approvals.
• Post costs to the correct company, account, cost centre, and accounting period.
• Follow up on missing information and resolve invoice differences.

Payroll and Salary Processing

• Process WPS and salary payments for the assigned Middle East and Africa entities.
• Check payroll details, prepare payment files, and resolve differences with HR.
• Ensure timely and accurate payments while maintaining confidentiality.

Month-End Accounting

• Prepare recharge invoices for Guyana, Gabon, and KOTUG Subsea.
• Complete intercompany reconciliations and resolve unmatched balances.Perform assigned month-end duties in line with the Finance closing schedule.
• Reconcile monthly Qashio transactions against receipts, invoices, and accounting records.
• Follow up on missing documents and correct posting differences.

Customer Aging and Collections

• Prepare weekly customer aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices.
• Record payment updates and coordinate with Commercial and Operations when needed.
• Escalate long-overdue accounts and collection concerns to the Finance Manager.
• Update and review the Angola trial balance.
• Investigate unusual balances and correct identified differences.
• Submit the trial balance and supporting information to Oncorporate and respond to related queries.

External Audit Support

• Provide auditors with requested account schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
• Coordinate with internal departments to collect missing information.
• Respond to audit queries and follow up on required corrections within deadlines.

Financial Control and Record Management

• Maintain accurate accounting records supported by proper documents and approvals.
• Follow company finance procedures, internal controls, and confidentiality requirements.
• Report significant accounting issues and support improvements to finance processes.
• Perform other finance duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
