Job Summary
IIQAF Group is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join our hospitality operations in Abu Dhabi. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, monitoring income and expenses, and supporting day-to-day hospitality accounting and finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and accounting records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, and journal entries.
- Prepare and process accounts payable (AP) invoices and ensure timely and accurate supplier payments.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) transactions, customer invoices, collections, and outstanding balances.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, supplier accounts, customer accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and accounting adjustments.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, expense reports, and other accounting schedules.
- Monitor hospitality revenue, operating expenses, purchases, and departmental costs.
- Review revenue and payment reports and identify unusual transactions or discrepancies.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting, employee expense claims, and staff reimbursements.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, supplier, customer, and business information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an Accountant, General Accountant, Financial Accountant, Junior Accountant, or Hospitality Accountant.
- Practical experience with general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Hospitality, hotel, resort, restaurant, catering, or food and beverage accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, financial controls, and financial reporting.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
