Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a librarian in an academic or public library setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of current information technologies used in libraries.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the library collection by selecting, ordering, cataloging, and classifying materials.
• Assist patrons with research inquiries and help them locate materials using the library's online catalog.
• Promote library resources and services through outreach programs, social media, and other communication channels.
• Plan and conduct workshops or training sessions to educate patrons on information literacy skills.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
• Manage the circulation of materials by checking in/out items, collecting fines/fees, and maintaining accurate records.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in librarianship.
