Job summary

IJK Labs 3D Printing Production in Dubai is seeking a mechanical engineering graduate who enjoys practical workshop work and can turn printed parts into beautifully finished products.

You will primarily print, sand, polish, prime, paint, assemble and check quality; use CAD to improve designs and prepare parts for manufacturing.

This on-site role requires hands-on experience with 3D printing, surface finishing and CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Fusion, plus careful attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Hands-on experience in 3D printing and surface finishing with demonstrable work.
• Working CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion) and familiarity with slicing software.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments accurately.
• Attention to detail, clear progress reporting and willingness to learn casting and mould making.
• Comfort with a primarily practical workshop role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate FDM and SLA printers, set orientation, supports, slice files.
• Remove supports, sand surfaces while preserving detail, dimensions and fit.
• Prime, paint and polish parts to a premium finish; produce finish samples.
• Assemble products and verify alignment, attachment strength, surface quality and dimensions.
• Use CAD to modify parts and design fixtures, supports and mould components.
• Develop skills in silicone mould making and polyurethane/epoxy casting through trials.
• Follow safety instructions, use PPE and keep the workshop organized.
• Review files before manufacture; flag weak features and manufacturing risks.
• Maintain versioned files, process notes and progress photos; final checklist before handover.

IJK Labs creates custom trophies, prototypes and small-batch manufactured products. We are looking for a mechanical engineering graduate who enjoys practical workshop work and can turn printed parts into beautifully finished products.

Most of your daily work will involve 3D printing, sanding, polishing, priming, painting, assembly and quality control. You will also use CAD to improve designs, strengthen delicate features, develop attachments and help prepare parts for manufacturing.

What you will do

• Prepare and operate FDM and SLA printers, select orientation and supports, slice files and troubleshoot print defects.
• Remove supports, fill and sand surfaces while preserving detail, dimensions and fit.
• Prime, paint and polish parts to a consistent premium finish; produce finish samples before full production.
• Assemble products and check alignment, attachment strength, surface quality and dimensions.
• Use CAD to modify parts and design practical fixtures, supports and mould components.
• Develop skills in silicone mould making and polyurethane/epoxy casting through documented processes and supervised trials.
• Follow material safety instructions, use appropriate PPE and keep the workshop organised.
• Review every file before manufacture, including files supplied by another designer. Flag weak features, missing dimensions and manufacturing risks before printing.
• Maintain versioned files, process notes and progress photos; complete a final quality checklist before handover.

What we need

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in 3D printing and surface finishing, supported by photos or examples of your own work.
• Working CAD skills, such as SolidWorks, Fusion or equivalent, and familiarity with slicing software.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments accurately.
• Attention to detail, clear progress reporting and willingness to learn casting and mould making.
• Comfort with a primarily practical workshop role.

Experience with trophies, models, props, automotive finishing, resin casting or small-batch production is useful. Strong practical project experience will be considered alongside employment experience.

Location and joining

This role is based on-site in Dubai. UAE-based and overseas applicants, including those currently in India, are welcome. Prompt availability is preferred. Relocation flight assistance may be agreed for the selected candidate. Travel and starting dates will be confirmed after a written offer and the required travel/work permissions.
