Job summary

Curro Holdings Ltd is seeking YES Programme Candidate: Student Teacher (part-time) at Curro Soshanguve to commence duties in March 2027. The position offers a stipend-based opportunity under a 12‑month contract, ideal for graduates or students pursuing Education or Early Childhood Development.

The role covers classroom support, learner engagement, and administrative tasks within a Curro school environment in Soshanguve, with preference for previously unemployed youth aged 18-34 and SACE

Responsibilities

• Classroom Support: Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Learner Engagement: Help learners stay focused, encourage participation, and provide one‑on‑one support where needed.
• Assessment Assistance: Support educators with marking, recording results, and monitoring learner progress.
• Extramural & Event Support: Assist with school activities, events, and extracurricular programmes to ensure smooth running and learner involvement.
• Resource Preparation: Help prepare teaching materials, photocopies, and digital resources to support lessons.
• Administrative Support: Assist with basic admin tasks such as filing, updating learner records, and handling communication.
• Professional Growth: Participate in training, mentorship, and development opportunities to build skills for future employment.
• School Ethos & Values: Uphold Curro’s ethos and values through reliability, teamwork, and professional behaviour.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
• Must be previously unemployed.
• Stipend range: R5 241,00 – R6 000,00 per month.
• Qualification in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related studies (essential).
• SACE registration (provisional or conditional accepted).
• Living close to the Curro school you are applying for.
• Passion for working with children, with patience and commitment to personal and professional growth.
• Strong communication skills to engage with learners, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Energetic, reliable, and responsible, with a positive attitude towards learning and teaching.
• Willingness to assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and extracurricular activities.
• Basic administrative and organisational skills to support educators with records, resources, and learner progress.

This is a stipend-based opportunity (not a salary). This is a 12-month contract position
