Job summary

Bidvest Facilities Management is seeking a qualified space planning Architect/Interior Designer for our Centurion office. You will develop space planning drawings, ensure SABS compliance, and maintain layout plans across all floors of the designated building.

The role requires a Diploma/degree in architecture or interior design, AutoCad proficiency, and 3 years’ relevant experience in office space planning. SAP and financial awareness are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in architecture or interior design.
• Registration with Professional Architect or SA Interior Design (advantageous).
• Matric and a valid driver’s license.
• 3 years in architecture, interior design or space planning for offices.
• Proficiency in AutoCad.
• Knowledge of financial management and space planning principles.
• Familiarity with OHS Act, NBR/SANS 10400 & ISO 9001.
• Office administration and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide space planning drawings within budget margins.
• Ensure compliance with SABS standards for space planning.
• Maintain and update stack models and layout plans for all floors.

• Maintain space standards and a work environment supporting divisional needs.
• Benchmark best-practice space planning processes.
• Monitor supplier performance and enforce remedial actions.

• Ensure final designs meet customer requirements per SLS and Project Scope.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)

• Provide space planning design drawings within specified budget margins
• Ensure compliance to SABS standards that relate to space planning designs
• Maintain & update stack model, layout plans for all floor levels of the designated building
• Engage with various client staff members on their space needs
• Maintenance of space standards & ensure an environment that supports divisional space needs
• Conduct benchmarking for best-practice space planning processes
• Monitor supplier performance on projects & effect timeous remedial measures on any deviations to established standards
• Ensure that reports are up-to-date & with the relevant information as required by the client and the business to carry its contractual obligations as per SLA
• Ensure regular update & submission of Asset Register that covers all its values, locations and status
• Ensure that finalized designs (drawings) meet customer requirements stipulated in the SLS, & Project Scope prior to submission

Tertiary Education & Experience

• National Diploma/Degree in Architecture/Interior Design

Registration with Professional Architect or SA Interior Design (advantageous)

• Matric (Senior Certificate)
• Valid Driver’s License
• 3yr relevant experience in architecture, interior design, space planning in office buildings
• Practical ability to use AutoCad
• Sound knowledge of Financial Management
• Have sound knowledge of space planning principles
• Knowledge of repair & renovations, alterations and additions, & design of new buildings offices
• Knowledge of OHS Act, NBR/SANS 10400 & ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

IT Training (General MS )

• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project & MS Outlook (Intermediate skill level)
• SAP knowledge is a must
