Placements24 is assisting a prestigious Stellenbosch wine estate in finding a dedicated Vineyard and Winery Cleaner. The role covers cleaning winery equipment, cellars, processing areas and guest-facing spaces, with an emphasis on hygiene, safety and wine industry standards.

The successful candidate will work on site in Stellenbosch, requiring meticulousness, reliability and the ability to operate in temperature-controlled environments while supporting environmental and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably in food & beverage or winery environments.
• Solid understanding of sanitation principles and best practices in a production setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to perform demanding cleaning tasks in temperature-controlled environments.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Reliability and punctuality; willingness to work weekends or after-hours during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize winery equipment, tanks, presses, fermentation vessels, and bottling lines per protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness of cellar floors, barrel rooms and general winery premises.
• Ensure hygiene of processing areas to keep contaminants at bay.
• Clean laboratory facilities and equipment used for wine analysis.
• Tidy guest-facing areas including tasting rooms, reception and restrooms.
• Manage inventory and storage of cleaning agents and sanitation supplies.
• Dispose of waste and by-products responsibly and in line with safety rules.
• Adhere to safety regulations and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Support general site maintenance as needed and ensure compliance with wine industry food safety standards.
