Placements24 is seeking a skilled Logistics Planner for operations based in the Paarl area. You will plan and optimize inbound and outbound logistics, coordinate with warehouses, carriers, and customers to ensure timely deliveries and cost efficiencies.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, 3+ years of experience, proficiency in Excel and logistics software, and strong analytical and communication skills. Hybrid work model offered in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in logistics planning or transportation management.
• Strong understanding of logistics networks, carrier management, and route optimization.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel in particular) and logistics planning software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize inbound and outbound logistics operations, including route planning and carrier selection.
• Manage transportation schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers to resolve logistical issues.
• Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Assist in inventory flow management between facilities.
• Prepare reports on logistics performance (delivery times, costs, service levels).
• Support implementation of new logistics technologies and strategies.
