The role blends remote analysis with on-site design reviews and site visits in the Western Cape. You will collaborate with geotechnical and wind-energy specialists, perform detailed calculations using ANSYS, STAAD.Pro or SAP2000, and mentor junior engineers.

A B.Eng. or M.Sc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 7+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on foundation design for large infrastructure projects.
• Specialised experience in wind turbine foundation design is advantageous.
• Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and knowledge of soil-structure interaction.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyse structural integrity of wind turbine foundations (gravity base, monopile, jacket).
• Perform detailed structural calculations using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with Eurocodes, IEC and relevant national codes.
• Collaborate with geotechnical, civil, and wind energy engineers.
• Prepare design reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and support health monitoring strategies.
