Job summary
Boardroom Appointments is recruiting an accomplished Cranes & Installation (C&I) Manager for a leading heavy lifting and engineered transport organisation. This contract role is based in Cape Town with project-based travel and requires senior leadership that can deliver wind turbine installation projects safely and on schedule.
The role demands hands-on wind turbine installation leadership, extensive crane and heavy lifting experience, and the ability to manage installation contractors
Qualifications
- Proven wind turbine installation leadership experience.
- Experience in crane operations and heavy lifting.
- Experience managing installation contractors and subcontractors.
- Strong project management and site execution.
- Excellent planning / scheduling and leadership capabilities.
- Sound knowledge of SHEQ requirements.
- PM/PRINCE2 certification is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work on project sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead crane and wind turbine installation activities.
- Manage installation subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Coordinate crane deployment, lifting activities and installation schedules.
- Drive project milestones, operational performance and resource utilisation
- Monitor project risks and implement effective corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ requirements, client specifications and approved lifting methodologies
- Manage operational interfaces between clients, contractors and project teams
- Support contract execution, variations and project reporting
- Maintain a strong culture of safety, accountability and operational excellence
