Placements24 is seeking a Welding Supervisor for their East London facility. You will oversee daily welding operations, lead a team of welders, ensure quality and safety, and enforce factory standards in line with AWS/ASME codes.

The role requires a Welder trade qualification with 5+ years in welding and 2+ years in supervision, plus strong leadership and drawing interpretation skills. This hands-on leadership position drives project success and site safety.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Welder.
• Minimum 5 years welding/fabrication experience, with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, Stick welding and their applications.
• Familiar with welding codes and quality control procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

This critical role involves overseeing the daily welding operations, ensuring the quality and integrity of all fabricated products, and leading a team of skilled welders. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing workflow, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant welding codes and specifications. This is a hands-on leadership position essential to the success of our client's projects in the Eastern Cape and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of welders, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Ensure all welding activities are performed to the highest quality standards and comply with relevant industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
