Job summary

Alstom in Boksburg is seeking a Welding Monitor to oversee welding activities and ensure compliance with welding standards. You will work with production, quality, and project management teams to support industrialization of new projects.

You will supervise qualification of welding processes, train operators, and provide technical support to the project team, contributing to World Class Manufacturing practices across the site.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• IWS/EWS certificate or IWP/EWP certificate, or be a qualified welder with knowledge of welding standards.
• Strong knowledge in welding demonstrated through experience.
• 5+ years experience in welding environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Participate in the industrialization phase of new welding projects and provide technical guidance.
• Define qualification plans, perform tests, and prepare conclusion reports.
• Supervise the application of World Class Manufacturing at the project level through audits and inspections.
• Assist production by monitoring first assemblies until serial-GO.
• Train operators under the Welding Expert's guidance.
• Manage welding qualifications in collaboration with welding school.
