Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using GTAW, OAW, and Orbital TIG techniques.
• Identify, mark, and store materials per ISO 3834-2 standards.
• Cut and prepare parent materials per Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
• Braze and silver solder dissimilar metals as required.
• Conduct visual inspections on welds to ensure defect-free quality.
• Read and interpret design drawings and take precise measurements for welding layouts.
• Determine appropriate welding methods and equipment based on job specs.
• Interpret welding symbols per BS EN standards.
• Set up components for welding and prepare materials to size.
• Operate power tools to prepare components with proper alignment.
• Weld components manually or with semi-automatic equipment in various positions.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment.
• Perform tests to detect weld discontinuities or defects.
• Ensure welding equipment is well maintained for safety and efficiency.

• Our Client in the manufacturing sector, is looking for a B Class Welder to perform high-quality welds

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or National Certificate NQF Level 4
• Minimum five years' proven welding experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to interpret design drawings

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding using GTAW, OAW, and Orbital TIG techniques
• Identify, mark, and store all ferrous and non-ferrous materials in accordance with ISO 3834-2 standards
• Cut and prepare parent materials as per the applicable Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
• Braze and silver solder dissimilar metals as required
• Conduct visual inspections on welds to ensure they are free from defects
• Read and interpret design drawings and take precise measurements to plan welding layouts and procedures
• Determine appropriate welding methods and equipment based on job specifications
• Interpret welding symbols in accordance with BS EN standards
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cutting materials to size using bandsaws)
• Operate power tools to prepare components, ensuring proper alignment with calipers, rulers, and clamping devices
• Weld components manually or with semi-automatic equipment in various positions, including vertical, horizontal, and overhead
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment
• Perform tests and inspections to detect weld discontinuities or defects
• Ensure welding equipment is well maintained to prevent compromised efficiency and safety
