Job summary

HostAfrica is seeking a Website Product Designer to shape our digital ecosystem. You will bridge UX/UI design with product strategy, crafting intuitive, performant websites for hosting clients from SMBs to enterprises.

You will wireframe, prototyp e, and iterate with cross-functional teams, maintain design systems, and push for innovative hosting-focused solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, HCI, or related field.
• 3+ years in product/UX/UI design for web apps (SaaS/hosting preferred).
• Portfolio showcasing web-focused projects (dashboards/e-commerce).
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Familiar with responsive design and performance optimization for web hosting.

Responsibilities

• Wireframing & prototyping of web websites using Figma; responsive designs for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• UI/UX design: visually appealing, accessible interfaces aligned with brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to refine designs based on constraints and testing.
• Asset creation and maintenance: icons, banners, email templates; maintain a design system.
• Optimize designs for hosting context and stay ahead of web design trends.

Job Summary

The Website Product Designer will focus on designing and optimizing Our website designs. This role bridges UX/UI design with product strategy, ensuring our platforms are intuitive, performant, and aligned with user needs in the fast-paced web hosting industry. You will collaborate with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to create designs that drive user adoption, reduce churn, and enhance satisfaction for hosting clients from small businesses to enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

Wireframing & Prototyping: Develop low- to high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups for web websites using tools like Figma. Focus on responsive designs for desktop, tablet, and mobile to support seamless hosting management on any device.

UI/UX Design: Create visually appealing, accessible interfaces that adhere to brand guidelines. Emphasize clean navigation, fast load times, and intuitive flows.

Collaboration & Iteration: Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, product managers) to refine designs based on technical constraints and A/B testing results.

Asset Creation & Maintenance: Design supporting elements like icons, banners, and email templates for product launches. Maintain a design system/style guide to ensure consistency across all web properties.

Optimization for Hosting Context: Ensure designs support web hosting specifics.

Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of web design trends, and tools to propose enhancements that differentiate our hosting products in a competitive market.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 3+ years in product/UX/UI design for web applications, preferably in SaaS, tech, or hosting-related industries. Portfolio showcasing web-focused projects (e.g., dashboards or e-commerce platforms) is essential.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Figma

Familiarity with responsive design principles and performance optimization for web hosting environments.

Soft Skills: Excellent visual design sense, empathy for users, and ability to iterate based on feedback. Strong communication skills for collaborating in remote, multicultural teams.

Nice-to-Have: Experience with hosting tech (e.g., WordPress, AWS, or cPanel), motion design (e.g., for onboarding animations), or agile methodologies.
