About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Project Manager to lead critical water infrastructure projects in the Mossel Bay area. This role requires a professional with a strong background in civil engineering and project management, focused on delivering sustainable and efficient water and sanitation solutions. You will be responsible for managing all project phases, from feasibility studies and design to construction and commissioning, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and project objectives. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in water resource management and a commitment to improving community infrastructure, contributing to impactful projects in the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Oversee engineering teams, contractors, and consultants involved in project implementation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, permits, and standards for water projects.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for proposed projects.
• Liaise with governmental agencies, community stakeholders, and clients to ensure project alignment and support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering; a Master's degree or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management within the water sector or related civil infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes, distribution systems, and wastewater management.
• Proven experience in managing project finances, contracts, and stakeholder relations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of relevant South African water legislation and environmental guidelines.
