JG Afrika (Pty) Ltd invites a Water Engineer to contribute to the planning, design and delivery of water, sanitation, energy and waste management infrastructure in South Africa. You will engage in multidisciplinary projects, ensuring quality, sustainability and on-time delivery while supporting junior engineers.
The role requires design, project management, client liaison and compliance with OHS, QMS and procurement standards within a dynamic team environment.
As a Water Engineer at JG Afrika, you will play a key role in the planning, design, rehabilitation, and implementation of water, sanitation, energy, and waste management infrastructure projects. You will contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects, providing innovative, technically sound solutions while ensuring quality, sustainability, and successful project delivery within budget and programme requirements. Responsibilities include engineering design, project management, client liaison, construction administration, technical reporting, and the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions
Undertake and review engineering designs, specifications, drawings, quantifications, and technical documentation for water, sanitation, energy, and waste management projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
Design, construct, refurbish, and administer bulk water supply, reticulation, and water treatment infrastructure projects.
Conduct condition assessments and develop refurbishment recommendations for Water Treatment Works and associated infrastructure.
Prepare feasibility studies, business plans, tender documentation, and technical reports.
Develop Integrated Waste Management Plans (IWMPs), conduct needs assessments, and support sustainable development initiatives.
Participate in project management and construction administration activities, ensuring project quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing effective technical advice and solutions.
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, industry standards, procurement requirements, quality management systems (QMS), and occupational health and safety (OHS) standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify innovative and efficient engineering solutions that enhance project outcomes
Min. BSc / B Tech in Civil Engineering or similar.
A Masters Degree in Water Engineering would be highly beneficial.
Must be registered as a Candidate (Cand Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng) with ECSA.
Must have a full and valid driver’s license.
