Placements24 is seeking a diligent Civil Engineer specializing in water and sanitation to join our Cape Town team. You will contribute to potable water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management, advancing public health and environmental sustainability in the Western Cape.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with WaterGEMS/EPANET, and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and manage water supply networks, treatment facilities, and reticulation systems in Cape Town.

• Prepare engineering reports, drawings, and technical specifications for tender and construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and manage the construction of water supply networks, treatment plants, and reticulation systems.
• Develop and implement wastewater and sewage management solutions, including collection systems and treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and stormwater systems.
• Prepare engineering reports, design drawings, and technical specifications for tender and construction.
• Oversee site supervision and ensure construction quality adheres to design and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including government bodies, clients, and contractors, to ensure project success.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in water and sanitation engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or Candidate Engineer with ECSA is preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, EPANET) and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of relevant South African water and sanitation legislation and standards.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
