Job summary

Employment Solutions in Brakpan is seeking a Senior Warehouse and Logistics Manager to lead large-scale warehousing and logistics operations within the logistics, manufacturing, and FMCG sectors. You will drive efficiency, manage costs, and coordinate across the supply chain to support growth.

The role requires 10–15 years in warehousing or logistics, strong OHS knowledge, inventory control, and proven leadership. Experience with WMS and large-scale facilities is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Extensive experience in inventory control, stock management, and production planning.
• Cost control, labour management and operational efficiency.

• Proficiency in managing WMS and other software systems.
• Experience with warehouses larger than 20 000 m2.
• Experience managing fleets and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily warehousing operations including receiving, storage and distribution to ensure smooth flow and optimal space utilisation.
• Implement best practices for inventory control, stock management and warehouse layout to enhance efficiency.
• Oversee warehouse expenses and labour costs, analysing utilisation to optimise workforce productivity and control expenses.
• Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, aiming for timely deliveries and cost-effective solutions.
• Develop strategic relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to strengthen the supply chain.
• Monitor and improve logistics performance metrics, identifying areas for process enhancement.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are available, managing stock levels effectively.
• Maintain high standards of quality assurance and compliance with health and safety regulations through regular audits and staff training.
• Lead, mentor and develop warehouse and logistics staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Utilise and optimise the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard staff and assets.
