Job summary

Craven Cottage CC in Roodepoort, South Africa, seeks a senior logistics leader to develop and execute the company’s logistics strategy, oversee warehousing, inventory, transport and distribution across multiple locations, and drive productivity, cost efficiency, service levels and operational performance.

You will establish robust stock controls, manage 3PLs and transport contracts, monitor OTIF, lead KPI reporting and dashboards, implement warehouse layouts and capacity planning, and champion

Qualifications

• Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or Engineering.
• Postgraduate qualification or MBA will be an advantage.
• 5–7 years warehouse management experience.
• 5+ years in a senior management or executive logistics role.
• Proven experience managing large warehouse and distribution operations.
• Experience managing national transport and distribution networks.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills; Power BI experience will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse optimisation.

• Prepare and manage logistics budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Build, coach and develop high-performing logistics teams.
• Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Customer Experience and Service for seamless order fulfilment.

• Manage compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies and industry best practices.
• Develop warehouse layouts, storage strategies and capacity planning initiatives.
• Lead business continuity planning for logistics operations.
• Drive warehouse automation and technology improvements, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Prepare and manage logistics budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Build, coach and develop high-performing logistics teams.
• Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Customer Experience and Service departments to ensure seamless order fulfilment.

Requirements:

• Relevant Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification or (MBA will be an advantage)
• At least 5 – 7 years warehouse management experience
• At least 5+ years in a senior management or executive logistics role.
• Proven experience managing large warehouse and distribution operations.
• Experience managing national transport and distribution networks.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills; Power BI experience will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse optimisation.
• Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
