Job summary

The Good Human (Pty)Ltd seeks an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our logistics operations in a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, ensuring accurate orders and on-time delivery while driving efficiency and compliance.

You will manage and develop a warehouse team, implement HACCP and safety standards, optimise stock control with FIFO/FEFO, and collaborate with procurement to maintain stock availability.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of management and operations experience in warehouse/distribution.
• At least 5 years supervising warehouse teams.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
• Familiar with HACCP, SANS, GlobalG.A.P., Halal, and Kosher food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Ensure orders are prepared accurately and dispatched on time.
• Allocate tasks and resources to meet operations needs.
• Monitor workflow, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain smooth operations.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate the warehouse team with clear performance expectations.
• Manage staff schedules and conduct training to promote a positive culture.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene per HACCP, SANS, and international regs.
• Oversee stock control, counts, and address discrepancies; apply FIFO/FEFO.
• Coordinate with procurement on stock availability and handling.
• Ensure accurate documentation and records (inventory, delivery notes, transactions).
• Enforce health and safety policies and PPE usage.
• Track metrics like orders, dispatch performance, and variances; report to management.
• Implement process improvements to boost warehouse efficiency.

An established organization operating within the FMCG, wholesale, and hospitality industries is seeking a seasoned Warehouse Manager to lead their logistics operations. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a dynamic warehouse environment, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high performance across all activities.

What You’ll Do

• Take responsibility for the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and dispatched on time.
• Allocate tasks and resources effectively to meet operational requirements.
• Monitor workflow, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain smooth operational flow.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate the warehouse team, setting clear performance expectations.
• Manage staff schedules, conduct training, and promote a positive team culture.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as HACCP, SANS, and international food safety regulations.
• Oversee stock control, conduct regular stock counts, and address discrepancies.
• Monitor stock movement, wastage, damage, and ensure correct stock rotation using FIFO/FEFO principles.
• Coordinate with procurement and operations on stock availability and product handling.
• Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping, including inventory, delivery notes, and system transactions.
• Enforce health and safety policies, conduct safety inspections, and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Track operational metrics such as order volumes, dispatch performance, and inventory variances, providing regular reports to management.
• Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of management and operational experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• At least 5 years of proven experience managing and supervising warehouse teams.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle operational challenges and implement practical solutions.

Familiarity with the following is advantageous

• Food safety standards including HACCP, SANS, GlobalG.A.P., Halal, and Kosher requirements.
