Job summary

A proactive Warehouse Chargehand role in Bloemfontein, Free State, is seeking a results-oriented professional with extensive operational experience in a warehouse or distribution facility. The candidate will lead and coordinate a dynamic team, ensure accurate inventory, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards.

Key duties include supervising staff, managing stock via FIFO, liaising with production and logistics, and training new workers to meet daily targets while maintaining precise records.

Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF 4).
  • 5+ years of extensive operational experience in a warehouse or distribution facility.
  • Valid RSA driver's license with own transport.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of maize and finished products.
  • Maintain highly accurate inventory records and ensure FIFO stock rotation.
  • Ensure goods are labelled and stored properly; assist in loading and offloading materials and finished goods.
  • Implement and maintain housekeeping and safety standards throughout the facility.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies accurately.
  • Liaise with production and logistics teams to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Train new warehouse workers on SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Consistently achieve set warehouse targets.

  • Technical & Operational Expertise: Warehouse Operations, Distribution Facility Management, Inventory Management (FIFO), Stock Rotation, Stock Counts, Goods Receipt & Dispatch (Maize and Finished Products), Housekeeping & Safety Standards, and Logistics Coordination.
  • Performance & Leadership Traits:
    • Problem-Solving & Proactivity: Strong ability to anticipate issues and implement proactive solutions to ensure seamless daily operations.
    • Organization & Results Orientation: A highly organized approach to achieving warehouse targets and maintaining meticulously accurate records.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5 Years of extensive operational experience within a warehouse or distribution facility.
  • Valid RSA driver's license with own transport.
